2012 was the year of many beginnings and one such beginning was that of the Cape Town Electronic Music Festival. The festival is a pot-pourri of local and international acts. It is a spectacular affair of light and sound, that sonically adjusts the mind state of everyone in attendance. The festival transcends past the dance floor, crossing the racial divide, whilst also educating its attendees.
Three years on and CTEMF has not only become one South Africa’s biggest festivals but also it’s most important. This year the people behind CTEMF have been working hard to conjure a line up that is, the stuff of dreams.
Running from the 6th to the 8th of February hosted in the heart of Cape Town’s CBD the festival will host a showcase like no other; it is the perfect curtain raiser for the year ahead and the perfect scaling of how far the South African music industry has come. There is something there for everyone and very little excuse as to why one should not be part of such a wondrous initiative.
Sunday’s offering is looking very tasty with Culoe de Song, Xee from Globalize Yourself Stereo, Cuebur, Jazzuelle + more ready to showcase some great music, revellers are surely in for a treat and if you are in Cape Town I suggest you definitely attend!
